No, we haven't found a house yet...unfortunately. Our blog is moving! =) Hooray! We have a brand new Web site, blog and online ordering system! It's about time! It's definitely still a work in progress but from now on we'll be posting all our posts on the new blog instead of here. Don't worry, we'll keep this one alive and you will be able to link back to it from the new one.

We're BAAAAAAAACK!

Yes, it's true. We're alive and here's a post to prove it. I could give excuse after excuse for why we haven't been blogging but they'd be just that...excuses. However, I will say that we have some super-exciting things just around the corner and we've been taking a lot of time preparing for that. The big thing is that very soon, we'll be premiering our brand new Web site, blog and online-ordering system! It's been a long-time coming and we're pumped for the change. We've been busy with that and with shooting several family sessions the past few weeks, but we're waiting to post those to the new blog...so hang in there more pictures are a'comin'. ALSO - we'll start our wedding season in a couple weeks so you'll have to be sure and check out our new site to see all that.

We've also been busy out of town...in Denver visiting some of our best friends...Matt and Kelly. Matt and Dac have been friends since like elementary school. In fact, they're both part of this group of guys that have been friends forever and are still besties. (such a manly term, I know, but Dac's not writing this, so too bad!) Anyway, they're all crazy and super different from each other and yet..so much the same. It's really kind of a wierd phenomenon to see them together. What's even cooler is that all of us girls (the wives club) get along super well too! I feel so lucky to get along with them all so well. It sure makes camping trips with 'the guys' a lot more fun! =) You with me?

So back to the trip... we headed out there and from the second we drove into town until we headed out, it rained and/or snowed and/or "snailed" (snow/hail mix...for all you who don't automatically speak my language) practically non-stop. There was all sorts of plans made and most of them were cancelled at some point during the weekend. We mostly stayed in, played games, watched tv, and ate...and ate and ate and ate...and ate. =) It was great to hang out with them and we had an awesome time, crappy weather and all.

Kelly is a fab stage actress so while we were there we snapped a few head shots for her. These were SUPPOSED to be taken outside somewhere but, again, thanks to the weather, we improvised. Thankfully we had a photogenic model and some great natural light to work with. Here's a few of our favorites:

When the weather cleared up a little we were able to head downtown to eat and check out the art museum. The modern art section was pretty cool. Personally, I liked the large broom and dust pan outside. Thanks Matt for grabbing this picture of us.

Jacob+Charli: Reception

Some Superhero Good Times

I had been shooting e-mails back and forth to Lindsey for a couple months prior to this session, so when it came time to actually meet, I felt like we'd been known each other for years! I love it when that happens. I can't say enough how awesome these guys are. We felt completely at ease and had a blast capturing what their life is like right now. As you can see, it's fun, funny and full of love.

I think this little man wins the "funniest 3-year old I know" award. Here he is doing important work out at the farm.

Even though he was VERY busy, he was kind enough to humor me and look at the camera!

At the end of this session we were all smiles. We talked about how blessed we've been to meet such GREAT people that we love to work with. It's pretty amazing. We still can't get over that we can actually get paid to hang out with fun people our age! Are you kidding me? Sweet!

Emily: Senior

Just recently we photographed our only girl '09 senior. She braved the ridiculous Kansas wind (and I mean ridiculous...poor girl, we had to stop every half second to fix her hair) and we had a GREAT time!

Emily is full of spunk and pizazz and I just love that. AND she laughed at my pathetic jokes. =) So yeah, she's real nice too!

A Coffee Break

On New Years Eve I met up with Kayla and her adorable little munchkin to get some quick 3-month (I absolutely can't believe she's this old already) shots. We went to a local coffee shop (even though we don't drink coffee) because I've been wanting to shoot there for quite a while. It was fun hanging out, eating some yummy pumpkin bread and taking pictures of my favorite model in a new setting.

Speaking of best buds, I went with mine last night to see 'Bride Wars'... loved it.

Jacob+Charli: Wedding

A couple of weeks ago, we had the pleasure of shooting this awesome wedding for these two even more awesome people. The wedding was gorgeous! The details pulled everything together perfectly and everyone looked fantastic! Charli and Jacob are down-to-earth, kind, fun people... the kind of people the world needs a little more of.

Charli's mom is a photographer so she did all the formal portraits, etc... we basically just showed up to document the day! Talk about a breeze. Everyone was so laid back that everything flowed smoothly. Plus, I don't get to be just a photojournalist very often, so it was fun! Here's a few of everyone getting ready.

This picture cracks me up. Every time I see it, I smile. In my opinion the organ player just makes this shot. Hey, he wanted to see what was going on too. I love how we get home from a shoot and see things in the pictures we didn't know were there because we were 'in the zone'. It's fun.

A John Deere Christmas

Here's another fun session we did a few weeks ago. These cute and stylish cousins got together to give grandma a surprise Christmas present.

This one cracks me up because Dora just HAD to be in the picture too. I couldn't help but laugh when her mom told her Dora shouldn't be in the picture because she was having a bad hair day! =)

This nice couple let us shoot the session at their farm.

Jennifer and Jeff (and their little man) are a super sweet family. They are just SOOOO nice... you can't help but smile when you're with them. We loved getting to do this family session.

While most of the day, he was too busy checking out our cameras and paying attention to what we were doing to smile, when he got on this great old tractor, it was a different story.

So sweet!

Seein' Lights

When I was growing up, my parents and I always went out for pizza and drove around looking at all the Christmas lights. I still love that tradition. This year, we took my 'little sister' along with us. It was a lot of fun!

Real Cute Chaos

Hi again! Hope you all had a very merry Christmas and a great New Years. We've had a lot of fun the past couple weeks and are glad to be back to posting! =)

Back in November, we took pictures of these cute cousins as a gift for their grandparents (which is why we haven't posted them until now). What an experience. We had two newborn babies (a month apart in age), a 1-year old and a 2.5 year old. Put 'em all together and what do you get? Chaos. Cute chaos. The four of them couldn't be good at the same time. It just didn't happen. Still, we had a lot of fun and I think we got some cute shots regardless.

I Could Just Scream

I've had this vision for months now. The vision of my perky, spunky, funny, adorable, smiling, full-o-character pug wrapped in a colorful scarf, and gracing the front of our Christmas card. It was to be cute and fun and a little something different.

"HA!"

Go ahead dog... laugh in the face of my dreams.

Instead, we got this: Peety being a complete bonky head and having NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING to do with pictures. He would look at us and 'smile' then the second we put the camera up, he would slowly turn his head to the side (completely on purpose). To top it all off, it was almost dark, furrreezing, wet, snowy and of course, you guessed it, Peety was stinky from trotting through all of it.

UGH! I could have just screamed. So guess what... no fabulous Christmas card after all. And no awesome Peety post to share either. Cranky dog.... sheesh!

Favorite Things: Peety style

Get excited... it's Peety's favorite things!! He worked so hard on compiling this list so I hope you enjoy it. =)

First, a little background on our fuzzy buddy: We adopted Peety when he was almost a year old. He just celebrated his second birthday on November 23. Peety's a pug. I didn't want a pug. I wanted the biggest lab I could find... or at least another type of large dog... like a German Shepherd, etc... I wanted nothing to do with a little dog... especially a PUG! I thought they were a little on the ugly side, loud, snorty, smelly and couldn't possibly be good cuddle buddies. Dac, however, had grown up with a pug and loved them.

When Peety moved into his temporary home (the yard next door) Dac had me shut my eyes as he walked me into the back yard over my lunch break. When I opened my eyes, it was love at first sight. There he was. This little bug-eyed guy with the most cuddleliest face in the whole world was standing there... peering over the fence and wanting me to take him home and love him forever. Every day after that I'd go visit him (our neighbor is the sweetest lady ever and she'd let me play with him anytime I wanted). After about a month of that, Dac surprised me with a fence for our anniversary so we could bring Peety to live with us. =) That was the best gift ever. I still think pugs are a little on the ugly side (so ugly they're cute...Peety being the cutest of course), loud, snorty and smelly... but I've grown to love all those things anyway.

Ok, that's ENOUGH sappy dog talk. Here's the list:

1) Milk-Bone Original Dog Treats: These treats are small and perfect for Peety. They've helped us teach him to sit, stay and poop outside. How could we, I mean Peety, not love them?

2) Puppia Harness: We don't actually have this yet (shhh... it's his Christmas present) but we've read/heard so many great things about it. It's soft, mesh - so it breathes, and it's perfect for a Dog like Peety. We'd hate to choke him while we're walking... then, he wouldn't be able to breathe. If he didn't breathe, he wouldn't snort, and we don't want that. =) I'll let you know how we end up liking it.

3) Kong Classic: When he's a really good boy, he gets this filled with tasty peanut butter. That's a really good day for Peety.

4) Petstages Orka Jack: This was the first toy we got Peety and it's still his favorite. He loves chewing on it, dragging it around the house, playing keep away and playing tug-of-war.

5) FURminator: Peety is a big-time shedder. NOT COOL. This de-shedding tool is pretty dang cool though. It takes off a TON of fur.

6) FURminator Waterless De-Shedding Shampoo: We use this with our furminator tool. You just spray it on, dry him off and voila! He smells pretty.

7) Sterilized Beef Bone: This simple little bone is a God-send. Peety chews and chews and chews... which used to be an unpleasant thing. Not anymore!!! hahaha. We've tricked him into chewing on this. The job's never done b/c the bone never goes away. This literally lasts years and doesn't get all torn up or splintery. He chews on it constantly. We LOVE this.

8) Bag Balm: This is another item we haven't tried yet but we will once Peety opens it in his stocking. His paws are little dry and cranky. I've read this is just the stuff we need. Can't wait to try it!

Tis the season...for family pictures! We've had a blast meeting new people and capturing families in a laid back, no stress atmosphere. It's pretty much awesome! =) So are these guys. They aren't 'new' and we didn't just 'meet' them... but we like them a whole bunch anyway! And aren't they great in front of the camera?

This is one of my favorites. I love how you can tell they're goofing off, giving each other a hard time and just having fun.

So to get to these cool locations, Dac and I rode in the back of the truck. Dac only flew out once... so I thought that was pretty good. =) Kidding.

A Few of My Favorite Things

Hey friends! I'm going to take after one of my fav photo-bloggers and post about a few of my favorite things. This is much like Oprah's favorite things show... only my things aren't super expensive OR brand new. =) I guess this really isn't anything like Oprah's show. Oh well, here goes!

1) Burt's Bees Chapstick: I LOVE this stuff and I, alone, could probably see to it that Burt never goes hungry. I go through several of these a year...probably because I put it on every 2.5 minutes. I like it because it's not greasy, it stays put for a while, it's got that tingly peppermint feeling and it's all natural. Ok, I just realized I downloaded the wrong picture. I use the chapstick...not the balm. YES, there is a difference.

2) Bath and Body Works' Country Apple Body Spray: Told you most of my items aren't new. This scent has been around since the beginning of Bath and Body Works and it's just me. Even with all the new fun 'flavors' out... I can't seem to part with it. I'm currently out... I should do something about that. Anyway, I like it because it's me, it's fruity, doesn't give me a migraine and it's subtle.

3) Nike Reax: I currently have this style/color and I live in them...except when I'm at work...and sometimes even then. I had last year's model too and loved them also. They are so comfy and are made for fat Flintstone feets like mine. They're also not too expensive and they're kidna cute too.

4) Old Navy Fleece Scarf (and matching gloves): I just got these in the mail. I got them for a little photo project we'll be doing soon (stay tuned for that) but I've been wearing them anyway. They're great because it's cold here and they keep me toasty, they're SOFT (this is a BIG deal) and I look like a candy cane when I wear them. Oh, and they were only $5 a piece.

5) Old Navy Flannel PJ Pants: I'm addicted. Addicted to comfy. These pants and all the other Old Navy PJ's are super-comfy and super-soft. The pair I have on right now, I've had since before our wedding over 2 years ago. So yeah, durable too. =)

6) Franklin Covey Original Planner Pages (in my planner): I'm a busy girl and I'm lost without this. Yes, I realize paper planning is 'out' and iphones and other fancy gadgets are 'in'. BUT, I'm just not ready to convert yet. Franklin Covey has a lot of really cool page designs but I prefer the classic one... I'm cool like that.

7) Bare Minerals Mineral Makeup: I have sensitive skin. Pale, freckly skin that burns and gets irritated easily. So then, for the most part products that touch my skin must be dye and fragrance free and, if it's going on my face, it better contain sunscreen. Too much info, I know. BUT I'm excited to tell you this makeup meets both tests! It doesn't make my face all red and itchy and it looks good too. A+.

8) Eskimo Joes Hoodie: I have this in orange and it's great. Lately, I've kind of been living in it. Again, so soft, so comfy... and it's from the best little juke joint in Stillwater - where I graduated from OSU... GO POKES!

9) Chi Hair Straightener: This one's easy. It gets hot fast, works fast and makes my hair look normal. The End. Side note: I got this as a wedding gift from some of my best friends from college. Such a great idea. Hi girls!

10) Gold Canyon Cinnamon Vanilla Candle: YUM! This candle smells so good and it's not all overpowering and yucky. Perfect scent for the holidays.

11) Canon PowerShot SD750: Again, I know this isn't new, in fact, it's kinda old. I had a PowerShot before this (just the older model) and it was great too. It lasted a VERY long time and I used it ALL the time (of course). This one's no different and I imagine pretty much all of them are fabulous.

12) Pampered Chef Classic Batter Bowl: I've had this for quite a while too and I use it all the time. I love to cook and bake (especially bake) and this is the perfect baking sidekick. I use it for mixing up a quick batch of muffins, cake frosting, storing sugar cookie dough, making scrambled eggs, etc... etc... etc...

Ok, so that's it. This is in no way ALL of my favorite things... I limited it to 12. =) Don't worry - I'll be back to posting cool photos soon.

Corndog and Friends

Hey hey! Long time no post. Hope you all had a very happy (and thankful) Thanksgiving. We did. It was great not having to work for a couple days and even greater hanging out with family and friends. =)

We met up with Tim and Tamara, good friends of ours that are tied to us in a ton of ways.. it's kinda funny. They are friends with several friends of ours but we still only met them a few years ago at the "laketastic lake trip numero uno"! They are super fun and so is their cutey pants dog Corndog...whom I just adore. I know, I'm a big-time sucker.

We started this session a bit too late and it got dark on us way too soon. =( So sad. Anyway, here's a peak:

Don't Feed the Goats

You're about to meet a girl after my own heart.... hoodie, tennies, comfy pants?! Oh my!! =) She's almost two so she was a ball of energy during this session. She was all over the place at the family farm like she owned the place. It was so much fun.

This family has been friends of ours for a long time... oh the stories I could tell about Uncle Chris. =) We had a blast guys! Thanks for having us and for giving us an excuse to hang out and catch up.

Tu-Tu Terrific

Prepared to be stunned by all this cuteness overload. I mean it... this girl is ADORABLE.

I first met this little love bug (and her momma, Cori) at a self-defense class last spring when she was just a little bitty thing. While we're on the topic of self-defense classes.... go to one! Seriously. They're way fun and I learned some killer moves. Watch out! =)

Anyway, this awesome family now goes to our church and we've had the major privilege of watching her in the nursery. She is growing up so fast. For the longest time she wouldn't even get off my lap but within a couple weeks time, she was pulling all the toys off the shelf and 'socializing' with all the other babies. She turns 1 next month and we are so thrilled we got to do this session.

Favorite #1: How could it not be?

Favorite #2: She is just such a sweet, happy baby. AND she dresses cute too. =)

Night and Day

Hello! Here we are in the middle of a crazy-busy-fun weekend. A weekend full of two kiddo/baby sessions AND taping/painting my sister-n-law's new place!! Awesome right? It's really cute and it's been fun hanging out and making a giant mess.

Just this week we experienced the shortest session ever. And when I say short... I mean short! Still, we had fun and think we captured some fun shots of these guys. You may remember them from this post. Big brother was home sick. =(

Little man here, just like last time, was NOT into having his picture taken. That was just way too much attention for him. Still ridiculously cute though.

Now this guy? Not so shy. No sir. Almost like night and day. Here's a look at his very scary monster face! =)

"I'm missing the KU game for this?

So, about that super-cool family I was telling you about? Well, here they are!

I met Joan (the mom/wife of the group) a couple years ago through Big Brothers/Big Sisters. She is the epitome of fun and upbeat. We had no doubt her family would be the same way and that the session would be a blast. We expected right.

Here's the kiddos:

With mom. I love how he looked at me throughout the session like "I'm missing the KU game for this?" =) Like, "What's the big deal about pictures?!"

One of my favorite things to do during the family session is get Mom and Dad by themselves for a bit. They're always like "wait...we have a life without kids?" YES, yes you do! =)

Love this one. There was no posing with this group. They just get on the ground and hung out together. Perfect!

Booked

Hey there blog buddies! I wanted to let you know three very important things.

#1: We're still alive and kickin'. =) It's been a few days since our last post but never fear, we have some great things coming your way real soon. First up will be some photos of an awesome family we had the privilege of hanging out with last weekend. Then, we have a ton of fun sessions planned over the next week or two. Can't wait for those!

#2: There is only 45 days 'til Christmas. I LOVE Christmas. LOVE IT! I can't wait for the day after Thanksgiving so I can put up our cute little-bitty, kinda homely tree and crank up the Christmas tunes. I'm doing my happy dance right now I'm so excited. I'm also looking forward to buying new wrapping paper. I LOVE to pick out new wrapping paper with matching bows, name stickers and just about any other fun doodad I can find to tack on the presents. I'm pretty sure Dac despises this quality in me (especially when we have paper left over from last year...and maybe the year before) but I just can't help it.

#3: We are 100% booked for the remainder of 2008. This past year (especially these past few months) have been an exciting whirlwind of fun. We love taking pictures but even more, we love the great people we've been blessed to take pictures of. Thanks so much for choosing us to be your photographer and for helping us do what we love. With that being said, we are SUPER excited to see what next year has in store, and are booking sessions now... so come on, join the cool club!!! =)

Hunter:Senior

Recently we shot a very different kind of senior session and it was awesome! Hunter is such a cool guy and to top it off... he rides bulls. Are you kidding me? No... I'm very serious.

We started out doing the somewhat-normal kind of stuff we usually do:

So a couple of weeks ago we had a crazy-busy weekend filled with like a zillion sessions (ok, maybe it was just 3, but it seemed like a lot!) and this cute little guy was one of them! You may remember him from a session we did a few months ago. He just recently celebrated his 2nd birthday! Hard to believe.

Anyway, he was a little shy and sleepy at first but by the end of the session he was hammin' it up with the best of them!

Rock-n-roll biker dude!!

Me and his momma used to roller skate (not blade) down this very same driveway (grandma's) for HOURS wearing awesome early 90's outfits complete with two pairs (count them...2 pairs) of neon socks, a side ponytail and the bottom of our shirts pulled through the ever-so-popular plastic heart! =) We were so cool. Afterwards we'd down our little bottles of IBC rootbeer and continue to crack ourselves up! Ah... that was the life!

We tried all day to get him to 'tell' us how old he is but he either wouldn't do it or he'd surprise us with it and we'd miss it. This is about the best we got... him looking like lil' gangsta man!

Justin+Erica: Engagement

Hi Friends! We've been staying very busy with photography recently and it's been great. We've got to do some really fun sessions (including this one). I do want to mention that we are completely booked through October (yes this announcement is coming way too late) and only a couple left in November. Last weekend we met up with Dac's cousin Erica and her fiance Justin for an AWESOME engagement session. Because we like to keep it real around here, I'd like to start off with these shots. An engagement session just isn't complete without a little combat!

Dac and I love to shoot seniors! It's funny because when we started thinking about doing photography as more than a hobby, I think we were both pretty against it. But... after all the cool seniors we've had the opportunity to meet and photograph... we're sold! This guy is no exception. Justin - thanks for having us do your photos. We had a great time! Then to the golf course... Justin is a Bulldog Golfer. I know nothing about golf... but he sure acted like he knew what he was doing... and he looked good doing it... so I'm sure he's awesome. =) I think this was actually my first time to set foot on a golf course.

Dustin+Lori: Wedding

A couple weeks ago we spent the day with Dustin and Lori for their gorgeous wedding! These two make such a great pair and it was an honor for us to capture the day. Here are just a few highlights!

I just love this moment between Lori and her matron of honor! They've been best friends for years... if you couldn't tell. They were so excited that the wedding they'd talked about since they were kids, was just a couple minutes away. So fun!

Fire and Iron

As I've mentioned before, I'm a BIG sister for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. I also happen to be a board member for the same great organization. (I love what this group stands for!!) Anyway, there's a cool fundraiser coming up where bikers participate in a poker run and end up at the Harley place for a big ol' steak dinner.

Now, on to the pictures. To help get the word out, these two firefighters offered to pose on their rockin' bikes for some promotional photos. For these here, Dac just played with some different editing styles.

This bike recently won the "most/best chrome" award. No kidding?

Before we go on, you must no that I just think firemen are the coolest. The job they do for all of us is ridiculously honorable and I'm very thankful for them putting their lives on the line every day (and for their wives for letting them). Another reason I think they are so cool is because in my senior year of college, I was in my apartment (that I shared with two awesome roomies) alone. It was the middle of the afternoon and it was COLD outside. So, I turned on our heater. It wasn't long before the house reeked of smoke and the alarms were a'buzzing. So, in my manly comfy pants, I head outside and call 911. Within a couple minutes three huge fire trucks pull up. About that time it dawns on me... I just turned the heater on and that is no doubt the problem. I was HUMILIATED! I told them right away how sorry I was and that I hated to waste their time. (by this time a zillion people from the apartment complex were staring at me.) Anyway, the guys were super nice and one guy said he did the same thing the week before. Now, I'm not stupid enough to believe that was true but I did appreciate the effort he put out to make me feel a little less embarrased. =) To wrap up an incredibly long, pointless story... they were nice to me so that makes them cool!

While this guy's not a firefighter, he is still VERY cool. =) He's our fund development girl's husband.

We had such a great time doing this shoot and can't wait to shoot some more during the actual event in October!

Part two: Almost due

So the other night we did part two of one of my best friend's (Kayla) maternity session. We did this one about a month ago when her baby bump wasn't quite so showy. =)

Kayla is a beautiful person inside and out and I know she and Mark are going to make such amazing parents! They've got "mom" and "dad" written all over them! Both are so great with kids. Anyway, I can't wait to meet baby Journey and get to know her. I know she's going to be just a beautiful as her momma... (yes, you're beautiful too Mark.)

This first one is in the nursery. It's so cute. It's based around the kids' book "Guess How Much I Love You" which is Kayla's favorite.

Getting these blocks in order proved to be a pretty hefty task! Go ahead and laugh. We finally got it though.

I snuck this one of Mark while he wasn't looking. I like to think he's pondering the meaning of life and thinking about his two girls. In all honesty, he was probably thinking "enough pictures already! UGH!"

Last weekend we got to play in the rain... and shoot an engagement session... all at the same time! =) Ok, so I can't really complain because technically, the rain held off while we were actually shooting AND we were with the fabulous Lori and Dustin.

A face without freckles...

Is like a sky without stars..." A special thanks to Natasha Bedingfield for recognizing this fact and to the beautiful bride below, Jackie, for sharing the lyrics with me. I mean it's sooo true! =)

We met Jackie a couple of years ago when we registered for our wedding at a cute little store named Browns here in town. I got to know her better through Big Brothers Big Sisters and she is awesome! So is her husband Andy (whose parents own Browns). Anyway, they got married a few months ago and I had asked her if she'd be interested in modeling for us since we hadn't done many bridals. She jumped at the chance!! She and her photographers didn't get the chance to squeeze them in so it works out for both of us! This session was scheduled right after their wedding but poor Jackie got sick. So we rescheduled. Then, both of them were in a car accident. Then, we rescheduled again... and it worked out!

We had a long session with Jackie and Andy but it was the best time! They are so much fun, so in love and so up-for-anything. We had a blast.

It's rare that I like the traditional portrait the best... but I think this is my favorite this time! Gorgeous right?

Freckle Face Strawberry

My best friend is having a baby girl and I am just pretty doggone excited for her! =) We're doing her actual maternity session in about a month but I am helping throw her a shower later this month and wanted to have some belly shots to show off at it. The theme is based off a fun kids' book called "Freckle Face Strawberry" which I think is just about right for Kayla. I can say that, because I'm a freckle face too!

This session was at noon so it was ridiculously hot and bright. Mark and Kayla were total troopers though and didn't even complain once. We'll definitely be shooting the next one at night though.

Kayla has such a beautiful belly and totally rocks the pregnant look. Can't wait to see how big she is for the next round!

Mom, dad and a handful of boys

Hey guys, long time no see! We're doing well after our run-in with Stella. We have the car back and it's ALMOST good as new.

We recently had a super-fun family session with a co-worker of mine, Amy, and her hilarious family. I know 3 boys can definitely be a handful but Amy and Kim make it look like the most easy, fun time ever.

We started the night off with a quick, traditional portrait in front of their good-lookin' house they've worked so hard on.

I love this kid. I haven't been around him too awful much but when I have he has seemed soooo shy and quiet. Uh... not so much! He is so much fun and he LOVES the camera.

This is probably my favorite shot of the night. I like how natural it is.

We weren't there 5 minutes before I noticed the little man is a total daddy's boy. He was kind of tired and not too into the whole picture thing...enter dad. See that smile?

Stella gets stupid

On Friday night we decide to take a ride, grab some ice cream and take a scenic route home. So we're driving and I, of course, have the camera glued to my hand shooting random pictures out the window as we drive.

Here's Dac driving us on our leisurely trip.

So we continued on our happy way, enjoying the scenery and loving life... when out of the blue...this deer pops out. See exhibit A.

Please also notice that there is a car quickly coming upon us. To be exact, it's a Trail Blazer. Dac, gracefully misses the deer. The same little deer, (for the purposes of this story, we'll call her Stella) jumps in front of the Trail Blazer. That car misses Stella too. Stella has it made. Then, Stella gets stupid and comes back. This all happens so fast... I'm not exactly sure how all this can happen in such a split second but sure enough it does. Stella is busy. The second time around, we aren't so lucky. Neither is Stella. We hit her dead on.

Next, things get a little funky. We lose control of the car... like REALLY lose control. We spin off into the other lane - with the Trail Blazer. By now we're on two wheels, with the top of our car facing the Trail Blazer. We're so close! Then, we take our two wheels and head down a ridiculously steep hill. It's a fast, bumpy, out-of-control ride to the bottom of the super deep ditch but when we get there we happen to be right-side-up. Dac opens his door and I hear the lady from the Trail Blazer screaming at 911 then at us "are you ok??" Whew, we are ok. I sit tight, practically shaking the freckles right off my face. Then, I try to get out... the door is caught because the front of the car is pushing back on it. I eventually get out and tread through the waist-high grass to the top of the hill.

To make a long story short... we are sore, tired and shaken up but that's it... for the ride we took, it should have been so much worse but it's not!! God really protected us that night as He always does and we're so so grateful for that.

Oh - and to top it off... I have two tick bites from my trip through the wilderness of La Ditch. Now, we wait for the car to get fixed up and life will back to normal... or at least as normal as it ever is. =)

Searching for Treasures

The other day Dac and I decided we wanted to go play and just shoot things for kicks and giggles. So, we took a little road trip and experimented with lenses, textures and lots more geeky photography stuff. =) It was kind of like a treasure hunt and I think we found some. Hope you enjoy the change of pace... we did!

Dillon+Rachel: Wedding

Wow, I'm embarrassed to say it's been so long since our last post. Things have been very busy for us lately.

Last weekend we shot the wonderful wedding of Dillon and Rachel. They are a super fun, so-in-love couple that are thrilled to be married.

The wedding was casual, fun and full of emotion. They have an amazing support system of friends and family who would do anything for them at the drop of the hat. It would be hard to miss the love their families have for them and the love they have for each other.

Rachel and Dillon, thank you for letting us be a part of your special day. We wish you two the best!

A stroll in the park

A couple weeks ago, my 'little sister' and I took advantage of the awesome weather and headed to the park. I've been needing to get some more pictures of her because we're going to be making scrapbooks soon. =) We had a blast.

On the run

Last weekend, we got to take Everett's pictures. He's such a funny little guy... and cute too. It was so windy and cold that morning that his bottom lip was just flat out shaking! Needless to say he had to keep moving to stay warm! :) He ran from slide to slide and just about everywhere else...except towards us! Typical kid. It was a blast though and we definitely got our workout in.

Several months ago Dac and I were asked to photograph a surprise 80th birthday party! How cool is that?! The party was last weekend and it was a blast! We had the pleasure of meeting several members of the family a while back when we shot these photos.

After we met them we were even more excited to join in on the birthday fun because they are such an awesome family to be around. There were plenty of smiles, laughs and hearty hugs to go around...and then some!

Look at this pretty girl! She has a twin brother too that is equally adorable. All the kids took turns riding the horse. Apparently she's been on before - looks like a natural to me! :)

The star of the day did NOT like having her picture taken...not one bit! I was so excited when I got the chance to sneak up and grab this beauty!! It's probably my personal favorite from the day and I think Dac did a fabulous job with the processing.

Meet Red: he's the ever so handsome dog in this picture. He and his adorable friend there completely made my day. He was be-boppin' all over the place and was such a friendly little guy that I couldn't help but fall in love with him. As if you couldn't have guessed that would happen...I'm so predictable! :) I'm pretty sure this little girl loves him too. Here, she's telling me that if you're really, really, really nice to Red, he'll let you scratch between his ears. LOVE IT!

Happy Earth Day!

Ok, I know we've been horrible - neglecting our blog like this - we've just been so swamped with things it's been hard to keep up. We haven't done too many photo sessions recently but have some great things coming up over the next couple weeks. Keep your eyes peeled for some awesome posts.

As many of you know, today is Earth Day. A day to think about how we can help keep our planet in tip-top shape. Dac and I try to do our part but we struggle and still have so far to go. We have converted over to compact flouresent light bulbs - which is a great start. We bought fabric bags to take grocery shopping too - problem is we always forget to use them. We drive fairly fuel efficient cars and wash clothes in cold water. Another simple thing I'm going to do is switch our homepage from "Google" to "Blackle". Using "Blackle" helps save 576,229.909 Watt hours due to the lack of color on the page. Cool right? You can learn more about it by clicking here.

One thing we don't do is recycle, well regularly anyway. Can you believe it? We just don't take the time to do it. I feel ashamed. Today, I went to take pictures of some students at the recycling center. These 4-year-olds brought lots of goodies to recycle and were super excited about it. Here's a couple shots from the plant. What do you do to help protect the Earth? I'd love to hear your ideas.

Bowl For Kids

Let me just say I love being a BIG sister. This weekend was the annual Bowl For Kids Sake in which a couple friends and I (along with my LITTLE) raised some moolah, bowled some killer games like a bunch of pros and chowed on some pizza. Sound like a good day? It was. :)

This past weekend we got to head out on a super cloudy, pretty coldish day to take Dillon and Rachel's engagement pictures. These two were so much fun! They had each other (and the two of us) crackin' up the entire time.

I love this fun shot. It totally shows their personalities!

Despite the clouds it was a great time followed by an even greater time when Rachel's mom fed us some awesome lasagna! :) Thanks for the laughs and the fabulous food. It was great to get to know you better and we're even more excited for the wedding this June!

You can't even tell though - she still looked beautiful. I was puffed up like a chipmunk for a good couple weeks after I had mine taken out! So in the last post you read a little about me being a Big Sister. Well - L is for Lauren and Lauren is a 'BIG' too!! Hooray for that and for us getting the chance to meet her. She is such a sweet girl and even though I just met her, I can tell she has a huge heart!

This is probably my best shot of the day and my favorite of Lauren. This was shot with her laying down in a bright yellow slide. It was real dark in there and I wasn't able to really accomplish what I wanted but I think this turned out even better. She has such beautiful features and I think this shows them off a bit!

Horton Hears A Who

For those of you that don't know - I'm a 'BIG' for the amazing Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. Sky and I have been together for over a year now and she is pretty much the coolest little sister ever! :) God definitely had His hand in our match and it's so exciting to see all the progress she's making in life and how much she's changed mine.

Anyway, Dac and I thought it would be fun to take her to see 'Horton Hears a Who' last night. So we did - and it was! Cute movie and she, of course, loved it. If you haven't seen it - check it out!

Here we are after the movie trying to make our best 'who' faces. Dac's is pretty good and ours are pretty pathetic! Still - it was fun. This was taken with our little point and shoot and edited by moi. I had fun playing with the texture.

She was very spunky, full of great ideas and was usually the first to volunteer (or be volunteered) to be a guinea pig for some crazy idea we had. She was great!! :) Here are a few of our favorites from the day!

A is for Amanda

This post is the first of the four individual girls (in alphabetical order- sorry Rachel!) from the 'party of four' post. So without further ado - A is for Amanda and here she is!

Amanda was such a rockstar during the shoot - bringing back the boombox! I'm lovin' it. Here she is playing...

Amanda is so fun. This was the last in a series of three photos. In the first she was very glam and composed. In the second a slight smirk started to appear. Then...wait for it, wait for it... KAPOW! There's the smile. :)

I was so excited about this location. I've had my eye on it for months and thought this would be the perfect session to try it out. Much to my disappointment, there was glass EVERYWHERE! What a mess. Glass, stickers, nails - you name it. The girls were willing to brave the elements though...

Baby Blues

You may remember this pretty girl. She's about 5 months old now, is teething and smiling like crazy!! Yeah, I know - adorable! Especially those bright blue eyes!

Party of Four

This past week we had an awesome time shooting these four girls while they were home from college on spring break. We've known and loved Amanda and her family for years and now we love her friends too!! Such a fun, pretty and sweet group of girls.

I love this shot because I think it shows how close they really are. Here they are - surrounded by cameras - and they're just going on with business as usual. The laughing never stopped!

It's good to have friends this good. :)

Happy Easter

Well, I hope you all had a wonderful Easter and for some of you - a good spring break. Dac and I have both been pretty sick with sinus infection yuckiness for the past week or so but we were still able to celebrate.

The day started early with a sunrise service/breakfast - then it was off to the regular church service. After that we went to my grandma's for a yummy Easter lunch. This is the first time in 24 years that I haven't had to hunt eggs. I guess now that they have a great grandchild we get to pass on that flame. :)

Then, it was on to Dac's parents for another tasty meal. These pictures are from our time there.

Here's our niece with one of the goodies in her basket. I couldn't resist snapping this shot.

She made Dac her Easter Buddy so he got to take her around to find the eggs. It was pretty funny - after each egg she found she insisted they high-five then, she'd say "come on Easter Buddy!!"

Val gave her this super-cool bubble wand that Gramps helped her play with.

And the shot of the day is....drumroll please....Peety!! I realize now this is the first time you've actually met our love pug. Here he is after having chased a bubble to the ground. I love him and I love this shot Dac got!!

Red Patent Peep Toes

It's been a few weeks since we've done an actual portrait session so I was super excited when it came time to do Heather's.

Heather happens to be one of my best friends. She's always very stylish and is usually the best dressed in the room. I mean - this girl would wear a dress and heels to a pajama party if you'd let her. :) She always has new shoes and the coolest accessories! I love it! Heather is also an amazing friend. I'm blessed to know her and to take her picture!

A Day At Grammy's

This weekend we went over to Dac's parents house for lunch to celebrate his Grandma's birthday. It was fun and we had good food - always a plus! As usual, we took the camera along.

These pictures are of our niece. I'm sure you'll see more of her in the future. Anyway - we were just playing around and Dac got these shots.

I love this expression. She was sooo not into having her picture taken right then! : )

There was harsh lighting all around which can be a pain but for whatever reason - we were feeling it yesterday. Here's Sarah playing with the remote control car.

Worf and T'Pol

Dac and I love dogs. Love them! So, we were pretty excited when we were asked to shoot these two characters several months ago. Yeah, they're kinda old but I wanted to post them anyway! They're just such great subjects. We got quite the workout that day and had a blast chasing them around the yard and trying to play 'keep the camera away!'

First up, we have Worf, the Basset Hound. He's pretty much adorable.

And here we have Worf's sister T'Pol, the Boxer. She had a blast playing fetch and licking everyone to death.

Recently, we were given the awesome opportunity to shoot these love birds. While they were actually married out-of-state, Adam's family threw them a local reception to celebrate. We are thrilled we got to be there to capture the special day!

Me again, Dac's still playing the Wii. Suprised? =) The good news is I've gotten a lot faster at this editing stuff.

I'm so glad I got to meet Laci and take her senior pictures. She is such a sweet girl with a very pretty smile! I did a double session with her and her sister Angie (who you'll meet shortly). It was a different experience having the two girls at once but it was also a blast! They were great sports in the cold, windy weather! Thanks girls!

Okay, so around here - things typically work like this: I (Alisha) do most of the shooting and Dac (with all his mad skills) does most of the editing. Well tonight, my fabulous sister-n-law sent Dac home with her Wii (he won't exactly be doing much editing this weekend)..... so, I decided to practice my not-so-mad editing skills and do this up myself. What do you think? Oh and this was really my first 'real' attempt at a baby photo. So fun!

Anyway, check out this gorgeous girl! I can't help but smile when I look at her. This was an impromptu portrait session that I'm thrilled I got to do.
